Okay so a banana may in fact be perfectly shaped for the human mouth, who am I to disagree with such a subjective statement, but come on. Where does this bizarre need to justify our faith come from? Forget the weird Freudian implications Dan pointed out (though they are pretty funny in and of themselves) but this video is the e-poster child for everything that is wrong with the modern church. As if proof-texting the bible to make our case wasn’t enough, now we are proof-texting nature?
We call Christianity our faith for a reason- because it takes some. Despite all the atheists that are now shaking in their boots I doubt anyone is going to be forced into the kingdom at banana-point.
We’re sure that the whole thing wasn’t some weird argument for evolution, right? After all, we did “evolve” from apes, and maybe evolution is just our way of saying, “thanks, but I’ve had enough of the damn bananas”.
It does sound like he is arguing for evolution doesn’t it?
Seriously though, I’m not saying every Christian has to buy into evolution but if people could pull their heads out of the sand long enough to actually engage the theory they might understand how truly incredible God and creation really are.
