man thats freaken intense….I don’t even know what to say….

  2. Christie says:

In a way I can see both sides of the issue. Although I was pretty alarmed when the Pastor said “I want to see them as radically laying down their lives for the gospel as they are in Pakistan, Israel, Palistine and all those other places.” At least I don’t recall seeing any weapons training at the camp!
I would never send my kids but my dad would have sent me to that camp back in the ’80′s if he’d known of one.
I like the comments from the Fuller guy. All in all there is hope to be had in the future generations and I’m sure that makes someone like the liberal feminist in the clip scared. But hopefully it will be a more loving strain of Christians.
I mean just look at how far Christian music has come since the days of condemning any song with too much of a beat or too loud or not clearly enough about worship or … And I loved looking around at everyone who showed up for the Cornerstone Music Festival when we were there- 25 thousand people from all over the world came to rock out together. And there was no worshiping pictures of Bush- at least at our campsite.
I think there’s a lot hope for us. Those kids will grow up to see the light.

my heart jumps a little everytime I see you pull out that “crazy people” tag. awesome.

  4. Justin says:

Chriistie-If by “grow up to see the light” you mean grow up to see that the rat tail mullet needs some tending too, then-yes- the kids futur looks bright.

  5. jeremy says:

ah, the rat tail. I bet his name is Cody.

Christie, I wish I had your optimism but unfortunately looking at USAmerican politics these days I fear most of these kids will grow up to be mindless unthinking Republicans.

Not that there is anything wrong with voting Republican (Seinfeld has really ruined that saying for a generation). Seriously though, there is nothing with a decision to vote one way or the other but the religious devotion to some political ideology is scary.

  6. Christie says:

I’m from a state that is like 73% Republican and being just below the Bible belt I was raised on this stuff.
Looking back at what’s going on back home is exactly why I’m hopeful. All along my overly-right thinking friends have wished to see what one of them could do with the reigns. I mean we’re asked to pray to God for direction about our jobs, our marriages, our lives- what could be more God-honoring than voting in someone who surely also consults God for the answers, right??
Now that the results of that thinking is out there for all to see (and bash on every occasion– which if we’re not careful will just make them defensive and they’ll never see what’s really going on– us Southerners are stubborn folk) there is a clearer idea of what the pitfalls are.
I voted for Bush the first time. The second time, I didn’t vote. I couldn’t vote for the guy again now that I could see what he was capable of but I couldn’t vote against him because no one else seemed to know how to clean up his mess. OH WELL!!
In the States, I won’t make those mistakes again.
In Canada, we see what happens when the Liberals have too much uncontested power for too long. I pay Canadian taxes now and run a Canadian small-business. OUCH!

Nonetheless, I’ve discussed this at length with my God-fearing republican friends and family back home and I think there’s hope. Nothing teaches better than a mistake!

Now if the Canadians and ultra-Liberals could just stop rubbing our noses in it…

  7. Christie says:

And I’m proud to say that none of my friends, family and associates have rat-tailed mullets!! But damn if you don’t see them around- what’s with that!

  8. joe says:

i’m surprised you weren’t interviewed for the film, jer. seems like your cup of tea.

  9. jonathan says:

Pretty insane eh? I saw this 2 weeks ago and nearly fell off my chair. The crazy thing is that I also saw a clip on these 2 girls that promote the whole “White” / “Eurpoean” movement (i.e. white eliteism) and the two stories seemed too much alike.

    God help us…God help them!

Why the heck did Apple post that on their site?

  10. Joan says:

I would be interested in hearing Jeremy’s thoughts on the Camp.

  11. so… where can i enroll? am i too old? and, finally, why don’t we call “unedited” “jesus coffee shop”?
