I had a great meeting over coffee this morning with a new friend. We shared a lot about our respective journey’s through the church and the places we now find ourselves. (myself in a faux-pentecostal, ex-seeker sensitive, one-time mega-church exploring the waters of emergence, my friend in a classical, modern, free methodist congregation) Each of us dissatisfied with the status-quo but adventurously expectant over the future of the church in both our individual communities and in the larger catholic sense.
Point is it’s an interesting, sometimes unexpected and completely welcome piece of the emerging journey to find and connect with others on a similar path.
Thanks for the coffee.
BTW we spent some time discussing Alan Mann’s book Atonement for a Sinless Society, which is a fantastic read if anyone is interested.
