I’m back.. and it almost feels like I never left.
This past week Chris Wiersma accepted the position as the new Sr Pastor at Westside King’s Church. We had been in conversation for the past couple weeks but on Thursday, with 7 days left on my ticking employment clock with Westside, Chris asked me to stay as part of the team.
My role will continue as the Creative and Communications Director- sharing the teaching with Chris, continuing to lead un’ed.i.ted spirituality and overseeing the arts department.
It has been a crazy ride over the past 16 months but I think we’ve turned a corner this weekend and I look forward to the next ride. (possibly one that doesn’t involve me being out of work) I’m really excited about the possibilities at Westside. We have a great story to look back on but a lot still to be written.
I’ll add some more thoughts later about how I have processed everything that has happened but for now- just want to let everyone know that I’m not going anywhere.
Let the tears or cheers begin.
I am so relieved.
I feel a personal interest in Westside, for some reason, and I was so sad at the possibility that you weren’t going to be there. As if with all the changes that had taken place over the last year- that felt like the final straw.
And now I think we’ve got the best possible solution for this time.
So do you think Tom will ever start attending again?? It would be nice to see him around, especially once this news has sunken in. Why not?!
Welcome Back.
Hey Jeremy,
Great to hear that you will be staying around, Ken Castor and I were just talking about you and are pumped to hear that you’re sticking around. Let me know if you want the worship band back out at unedited. I should also say that I am pumped with the arrival of CS!
Awesome! I am thrilled for you and westside!
